Girls Camp 2009

The past 3 yrs I've been going up to Girls Camp as a ward director. This year I was asked to be in charge of the YCL 16s (16 yr old girls). I loved it and had a blast. This was by far my favorite year so far. I had 3 other great leaders working with me. Rebekah Hanson, Dena Schmidt, and Kristine Shutt. All the girls we had were amazing and hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard in such a long time. It definitely took a lot of planning and preparation but it so paid off!! Brian is now the new COPE director (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) it a ropes course. He was totally in his own!!! He'll be doing this for the next 4 years. He had such a great year. It's such a huge payoff to see these young women overcome challenges and gain confidence in themselves and trust others. I'll just post some random pictures and videos.

Me and Kristine

The girls have to get from one side of the rope to the other without falling off. It's pretty fun to watch.

Some more pictures of the archery range...

All the 16's / brainstorming skit ideas at our "home base" (Trading Post cabin)

Prince Edward and Giselle made an appearance too.

There are many more pictures, but I think this is just enough to show that we had a great time.

Hang Town!

Life has been so busy! And I obviously am not very good at keeping this up to date. Oh well.

Recently Brian got the boys in the family to get dirt bikes. So when it's not 100 degrees outside that's what they like to do to get themselves into trouble. I love how well they all play together! And this is one more thing to add to the adventure list. If anyone's keeping track this is number 22 I think on the hobbie list. But I love it!

Haunted Train Ride

For the past 5 years Brian & I have had a tradition of riding the Haunted Train. Each year we take a new group to experience a spooky time! This time we had a huge crowd of 16. This was the best year by far!!!! So here are some pictures before the scary ride started.

This year we brought, the Kester's, Fawson's, Johnson's, Joel & Danielle, & Ben & Krista. We had a great time spending the evening with everyone. The train ride is an hour long and makes its way through a haunted forest where a lot of spooky things happen. If you want a crazy Halloween memory let us know and we'll take you next year.

the little monsters

We do have family, it's not just all about our dogs. Brian's sisters have children that we love to wined up, then send back to their mothers. Emily has three. Madison (Mad Dog), Tyler (T-Man, Tank or lovingly referred to as Moose), & Andrew (Drew). Monica has two. Betty Lou (the Lou) and Toby (Tobster). They're so much fun! Above are pictures of: Madison. Andrew. Betty Lou. & Tyler, Drew, the Lou on uncle Brian. (I love the attitude on Madison's face. Classic).

And introducing... little Ava!!!! She's so sweet, the little squeaker! I love how she's starring at Brian. It's so fun having her over for visits. (Mike & Christy's little sweet pea)

Coming soon...

Pictures from Brian's birthday...

Andventures in the mountains

This past weekend we had the opportunity to spend time at a ranch in Lasen. It was so much fun! I haven't laughed & got this dirty since I can remember. We stayed at a fully furnished ranch house with a beautiful lake off the back porch. Well just look at the pictures.

This is us & some friends at the huge waterfall up there. I can't remember what it was called, I know, what a dork!

Here are some hot shots of Joel!

There's this place called the subway caves. They were pretty cool. It was fun
trying to play hide-n-seek.

We all shot clays, I did very good I must say. Oh yeah, we road quads literally everywhere. We had a blast!

We saw these wierd sculptures on the side of the road. They're kind of funky.
